Irrelevant. I never realized how little the rest of the world cares about them until I went out into it and explained my JW upbringing to people. It is met more often than not with indifference. People are interested in why I don't spend holidays with my family. Aside from that, they could care less about it.

Are JW'S "hated" in all the world? Or...are they considered IRRELEVANT?
by Terry inwathctower 90/1/1 p. 12 par.
8 not ashamed of the good news .
while it is true that jehovahs witnesses are hated and opposed in all the nations of the earth, this is in fulfillment of what was foretold to be an identifying mark of genuine worshipers of the one living and true god.

Remember the illustration of the jar filled with golf balls ?
by troubled mind inour co gave the illustration about a jar filled with golf balls ,pebbles and sand ......it was suppose to illustrate how if we put theocratic things first other things like family and entertainment will fit .
blah , i like this explaination much better....... .
a professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand.
What a waste

the only logical l reason why the end did'nt come
by nowwhat? inyou ca'nt deny the many bible truths we have learned so how can the wt society have been so wrong about the "end"?.
one can accept the reason why it did'nt come in 1975, "jehovahs wants people to worship him out of love and not for a date".
but it should have come by the late 1980's .

Hard to debate someone who uses such logical fallacies. The term 'bible truth' is an oxymoron. They most certainly can be denied.

Do you miss "dressing up" for the meetings?
by dozy ini was thinking about this the other day when doing a bit of tidying up of my wardrobe.
all the kh suits are now pushed to the back of the wardrobe and i am seriously thinking about a visit to the charity shop to get rid of most of them.. for me one of the (few) enjoyable aspects of being a jw was getting dressed up.
my secular work very rarely involves putting on a dress suit & tie so i miss getting dressed up - smart suit , tie , shiny shoes , slapping on the aftershave.

I've worn a suit twice since last attending a meeting. Both times were for funerals. I don't miss it at all.

If You Have Premium Cable Channels What Are Your Favorites?
by minimus ini used to have everything my cable offered in the area.
hbo used to be my favorite but i have to say showtime is the best now.
homeland and dexter alone are worth the price (especially if you can get a deal)..

I like Starz the best for movies. I used to like the original programming on HBO, when shows such as Deadwood, Big Love, Entourage, and The Wire were on. There's nothing on there that interests me right now. I think Showtime's programming has surpassed it.

Went to a rock concert where we used to go to the D.C.s.
by RoosterMcDooster inwe are not far from the facilities that they use for the d.c.s, but this was the first time we went there since a d.c. my wife asked me if it made me feel weird to be going to a rock concert here.
it didn't bother me a bit, but i did notice something i thought was interesting.
when we used to go to the d.c.s there was so much hype about how much "better" we were than the other users of the facility.

I went to an MMA event about six months ago in the place we used have our DCs. It was the first time I had been there since the last DC I attended there. It definitely sent chills up my spine.

I would have to know more about the circumstances. Does she simply refuse, or would paying it back immediately, in full, be a hardship for her? Have you attempted to work out an arrangement with her that is mutually beneficial, and she still refuses?

If Someone Tried To Get Into An Altercation With You How Would You Handle It?
by minimus inif someone tried to pick a fight, would you try to diffuse it, egg it on, walk away, throw the first punch or defend yourself if someone tried to smack you??
?.

I see nothing wrong with walking away, if possible. I've managed to survive this long without getting into an altercation. Some people are unable to differentiate between standing up for yourself, and answering every taunt that's thrown your way.
